Harris Beach, OR Oil Painting
Brent and I have been fortunate enough to see the beautiful West Coast of Washington, Oregon and California (I highly recommend it!). So I decided to use some of our most treasures pics as a reference to hone my skills for painting both landscape and portrait. I remember the feeling of this day. There was a beautiful sea breeze and the sun was glowing so bright; it felt like happy freedom! Like when I was a kid running on the beach! Definitely something to capture through oil paints. I felt so many emotions painting this picture. It's amazing how art acts as therapy and catharsis. It gives us a chance to see things in a new perspective as we build our forms and landscapes.

Every time I upload a picture I am reminded of how art is so different when you view it in person as compared to a photo of it. LOL
I have posted my progress photos below.
Sketch for oil painting. Base Layer for Oil Painting. Improving sky layers. Defining forms. Adding layers of light to forms. Painting in details of water bubbles. Defining shadows. Final details in oil painting. Finished Harris Beach Landscape painting!
Thank you for checking out my art!
